Showcasing email marketing excellence — do you have what it takes to be a winner?

In 2014, I was honored and humbled to receive an accolade from my extended family and peers. I am proud to be the inaugural winner of The eec Email Marketer Thought Leader of the Year award. I was recognized for making a significant impact on the email marketing community for my work in raising the bar and furthering best practices and data privacy. For most of my career, I have worked to combat spam, address privacy issues and data governance, and improve email delivery for the industry by working with others to show that the email channel is worthy to fight for and maintain its vitality.

Obviously, this isn’t a one person job and I make sure to share this with all of my colleagues for being a part of those goals to ensure that our digital channels are kept open and clean for all to use. I also thanked my father and stepmother for pushing me into a career that I’ve loved since day one. I absolutely love the fact that we’ve all worked together, even as competitors, to give clients and brands the best tools and advice to help them be as successful as they can be. This has been a huge team effort for all in the email coalitions.

I have to say, I was shocked when I found out I had won this award, and it still sits in my office as a reminder to keep working hard and diligently. I had no idea this was coming to me nor that my friends and peers had submitted me for the award. I am also reminded of the ideals and the people behind this award, I can’t help but thank them again for their exceptional generosity. Words still truly cannot express how thankful I still am for receiving this honor. Even my soon to be college bound twins sons are asking what career path to take to be in a similar space that we all love and succeed in, and they too can enjoy.

So, now you are asking yourself, why four (4) years later am I telling you about this? Well, the 2019 eec Email Program Awards is upon us, and the program is a much larger set of awards. The awards program includes two individual awards and a set of program awards to recognize campaigns in five categories. The entire awards program seeks to promote and celebrate excellence in email marketing by showcasing the impact that email has in the marketplace and within organizations. Its impact is seen in its ability to assist in the achievement of larger organizational goals while also demonstrating innovative thinking in communication and content.

This year it could be your turn. You or someone you nominate could receive one of these awards and complimentary registration to attend the 2019 Email Evolution Conference, taking place on Wednesday, April 24 – Friday, April 26 2019 in Savannah, GA.
